When We Dip's Tales of Romance imprint is proud to present its first EP of the year, ‘Meet my Tempo' by Zoi, an outing centred around groove and harmonic touch. Manu, Gullen and Madmotormiquel each give their take of the A-side.

Zoi, which has released with Kindisch, Traum and Dirtybird, originally hails from Lahore, Pakistan, and is now an integral part of Toronto's scene as a co-owner of the Subdivision club.

The A-side, ‘Meet my Tempo' is a vibey affair marked by old-school house drums, an uplifting pad and diverse ear candies.

Inner Solstice showcases the same atmospheric feel, as the ever-evolving percussions and hats link the raw sub-bass, joyful pad and sparse lead melody.

Gullen's remix of Meet my Tempo revolves around an inspiring rolling bass progression, stabs and a sharp clap. A tasteful offering from the Barcelona producer fresh off his second EP with Mobilee.

Montréal's Manu delivers a throbbing remix which draws inspiration from his regular appearances in the city's institution such as Stéréobar and Le Salon Daomé. The glitchy break gives a breather before leaving the colourful sub leading the ‘I just want to groove' ad-lib.

Madmotormiquel's remix rounds up the pack. Bouncy percussions, short stabs and drum rolls hit against the bassline and punchy kick.
