Alejandro Mosso’s ability to traverse genre lines makes him a pillar of XYZ’s artistic vision. Through the Sirocco and Promander EPs, he’s built a foundation at the intersection of deep house, minimal techno, tribal, and melodic dance music. As we enter the blissful months of summer, we revisit Mosso’s latest project with a roster of remixers from across the electronic spectrum.

Boys be Kko takes the reins on one of our most classic productions to date - Promenader. Through a sterling set of releases with Atomnation, the Japanese aficionado is one of the most exciting names in electronic music at the moment. He completely reworks the original from square one, supplanting a low-slung vibe under a gritty bassline. Fluttering melodics enter the fold and escalate energies to round out a mind-encompassing offering.

TACHES needs no introduction to the XYZ faithful. He’s one of the best remixers in the game, and we think we have one of his finest ever works on hand with his take on Parlante. Harnessing the psychedelic nature of the original’s tripped out chops, he brings his own touch of vocal delight while adding a simply irresistible groove to form the backbone of a magical tune. It has everything - danceabliity, indie instrumentalism, a boastful bassline, and signature hooks.

Manjumasi maestro Mark Slee makes his XYZ debut as he reworks Coralia. Heady drumwork brings a jazzed minimal feel to the remix, allowing the original’s melodic work to carry the torch in the early stages. Slee kicks us into gear as we progress, adding a cutting arp and pronounced breaks to seize dancefloor momentum; a non-stop groover from start to finish from the San Franciscan.

Downtempo don’s Kermesse ease us to the finale with a sumptuous remix of the EP’s closer - Seeker. Capturing the original’s mellow tones and melancholic synths, the duo expands its reach with an easy-riding flow. A punchy bassline and revolving synth keeps mind and feet moving, as we delight in the XYZ debut from Mosso’s Argentinian compatriots.
